anyways to cope with this weather it is best to stay indoors…
to also help you stay cozy is this “NABEYAKI style Macaroni Soup” I’ll usually make this when the weather gets cold here in shanghai…..

for your info:

“NABE” in Japanese means Metal Pot.
Usually NABEYAKI Udon is served with a Metal Pot or a CERAMIC HOT POT. The Metal pot and ceramic pot is to help the food to stay warm.

went to the well known URTH CAFFE the other day while I’m here in good old SOCAL….
I went to the MELROSE one last time I was here in LA….this time I checked out the DOWNTOWN one….
URTH CAFFE is well known for the organic ingredients used on their dishes….I think they have one of the best breads in town…..its so good…!!!

I like this downtown location better…..I feel like it is more spacey here….high ceilings helps too…..

I’m not a big reader…but I do read…
remember the book in middle/high school we all had to read??
one of the books I really loved was “The Cather In the Rye” by J.D Salinger.
I love the book is because the main character Holden Caulfield reflects alot of the things we did when I was a teenager…..and the thoughts that goes through his mind.

according to the wikipedia….
this book has been translated to almost all languages…
and around 250000 are still sold each year.
unfortunately the famous author dies at 91 on 1/26/2010.
Even though the author is not here any longer but I believe the love for this book still lives on…..

I guess this could be the ULTIMATE MEAL…..
the egg and sausage instant noodle could be ate at anytime….
Mornings…
NOON…HIGH TEA…
DINNER…or..
LATE NIGHT SNACK…or
when you are DRUNK….or
the night after you get WASTED…

AGREE????

dont think of it as an easy meal to cook….
I’ve spend many many a nights to get to this stage….
1. the skin of the sausage must be crispy….
2. the egg must be sunny side up for you to enjoy the yolk….
3. the sides of the egg must be crispy…..
4. the whole finishing product must be hot….
5. noodles can’t be too soft or too hard….

remember it must be the RED PACK SESAME FLAVORED NISSAN INSTANT NOODLES
