'CHANGE THE GENERATION': CLOT PRESENTS A FUSION OF CULTURE AND ARTISTRY AT SHANGHAI FASHION WEEK

The recently held CLOT Spring Summer 2024 fashion show, titled 'CHANGE THE GENERATION,' made a powerful impression at Shanghai Fashion Week. Occupying a sprawling outdoor space of over 13,000 square feet at C·Park Haisu, the show transported attendees into a world where sheer beauty and cultural fusion collided.

As the sun went down, nightfall set the stage for a visually stunning experience. Guests were captivated by the presence of an architecture reminiscent of historic Chinese palaces. Adorned with LED plaques showcasing changing slogans, this elegant structure stood as a charming symbol of old meets new, setting the tone for an unforgettable show.

Keeping the focus on the true essence of the fashion show, the space was carefully curated to accentuate the clothes rather than extravagant theatrics. Every element of the venue was meticulously selected to enhance the event's overarching theme: the celebration of our cultural heritage and the nurturing of young Chinese creative talents.

"The show is actually designed in the way of a royal palace, but the context is that even we are not sitting in the royal palace - we are sitting with the crowd. And together, we have to figure out how to get to the next level,” shared Chen. “I want to bring everyone together to start figuring out what we do for the next wave of Chinese creativity, and not only in fashion."

For the show, up-and-coming music producer MARSIX, also known as Liu Jialiang, commanded attention with a captivating performance that seamlessly blended Eastern and Western influences. Utilizing the distinctive tones of the pipa, a traditional Chinese musical instrument, alongside modern Western electronic beats, MARSIX presented a harmonious fusion that transcended cultural boundaries.

Contributing to the artistic finesse of the show, emerging artist Bolin Li, affiliated with the art platform 3125C, added an extra touch of elegance. Renowned for his modern take on traditional Chinese ink painting, Li adorned the space with exquisite Chinese paper parasols and lanterns, infusing the ambiance with a breath of opulence.

CLOT's Spring Summer 2024 fashion show seamlessly combined fashion, music, and art, creating an immersive experience that left a lasting impression on all.
