Drake x Nike "NOCTA" Collaboration Release with UK-inspired designs!
Drake is one of the biggest names in the rap-game, known in Canada for playing a wheelchair-bound Jimmy Brooks on ‘Degrassi: the Next Generation,’ and creating bangers such as “God’s Plan”, “One Dance” and “Hotline Bling”. Dubbed “NOCTA” this collaboration is put together by rapper Drake and sportswear brand Nike, using a more street-sportswear oriented approach, the capsule seemingly is inspired by Drake’s time dabbling across the pond in the UK Drill Scene as it is very common to see youth and street culture sporting the classic puffer jacket and similar styles.
It’s not a surprise to see the love Drake has shown for the UK scene, having aligned himself with the street-rap-youth-culture in the UK and being friends with legendary UK Rap Icons Skepta, Giggs and many more, it only makes complete sense to be inspired by them too. he even saw his own voice sampled in Sketpa’s bumping track “Shutdown”. The lookbook even is seemingly influenced by the UK with the outfits creating a full-tracksuit combo in classic black Air Max 97 a shoe seen many-a-time in the country. Drake also has a love for English football or ‘soccer’, shown in the socks monochrome designs commonly seen in football socks.
This collaboration is composed of an array of different sportswear attire using light-weight and comfortable detailing - Puffer Jackets, Hoodies, Fleece Pants and Crew Socks. All pieces coming in Gold or Black silhouettes with the sleek trim of the opposite color which creates a more simple, yet elevated design. This is only the beginning of the NOCTA line and we are bound to see more inspiring pieces along the way.
