Nike ACG's Spring/Summer 2018 Collection is Full of Covetable Vintage-Inspired Pieces

Officially launched in 1989, products under Nike’s ACG (“All Conditions Gear”) sub-line were originally built for tough and rugged outdoor-performance athletes and recreation enthusiasts alike. Although it was shelved for awhile, the ACG line was reborn in 2014 as NikeLab ACG with creative direction from Errolson Hugh of ACRONYM. After a few seasons of techwear designs, ACG returns this season with nostalgic, 90's-reminiscent apparel and footwear.

The ACG “Dog Mountain,” is the first shoe in the lineup. Its name comes from a hiking site in the State of Washington, and the shoe is a mid-top hiking shoe designed by Tinker Hatfield. The shoe is available in a loud and bright “Emerald Rise/Tour Yellow-Black” combination, which sees the shoe dressed up in turquoise and purple with hints of black and yellow. The second iteration is a “Black/Equator Blue-Dark Grey,” and features a more subtle entirely black upper with purple and red accents. Both variations are laced with colorful paracord ropes and sit upon a white midsole — patterned to replicate a topographic map — and a treaded black outsole.

The second silhouette is named after a hiking loop around the Columbia River Gorge in the Swoosh’s home state of Oregon. Unlike, the “Dog Mountain,” the ACG “Ruckel Ridge” is a high-top, ankle-hugging sneakerboot with a sock-fit mesh liner and a speed lacing system. The foot rests upon a midsole of PORON Foam and a “GravelRockMoss System” at the outsole for added traction. The “Gunsmoke/Atmosphere Grey” colorway is adorned with tasteful touches of blue, pink, and yellow.

Whether you pick up pieces from this collection to use while hiking mountain trails on the weekend, or to use to keep dry from sidewalk puddles during the rainy season, Nike ACG ensures that you greet the world well-equipped and undoubtedly on trend.

The three pairs of shoes and select clothing from Nike ACG are available now at JUICE Stores and online at CLOT.com.
